Fun Ornaments at Rohr’s for Preserving Memories
How’s our supply of decorations and ornaments? We have a surplus. We definitely have a lot to choose from, and ornaments that you would never think of, just all kinds. Food items, like Wonder Bread, Choco Tacos, cupcakes. McDonald’s stuff. Guacamole. There’s a couple different guac ones. There’s a lot of really cool ornaments.
One of the things I remember when I got my first place and had my first Christmas, man, it’s expensive to decorate a tree. And so what I’m going to do with my kids is, you know, come over next year before we get ready to set up the trees and stuff like that. I told them this year to try to find a tree after Christmas, deeply discounted. I said, and next year you guys come over and I’ll hand down all those ornaments that we bought for you over the years.
That’s something that you’ll be able to tell a story to your kids as you’re putting them on, oh, I remember when I got this. And we take a little Sharpie and we write on the back, you know, the year that it was given and stuff like that. And it just helps create memories and prevents you from forgetting things. A lot of stuff happens over the course of the year. But when you have something like that, it sparks that memory and that can be shared with the next generation.
I think it makes me excited. I can do something good for my kids. I hand them down, I help them out. But I will also continue those memories in the future. And those ornaments are a way to do that.
We always have a lot of customers that come in looking for, hey, this happened with my kid. Do you have this sports ornament or do you have this, you know, they got their first job. Do you guys have a medical ornament, a graduate ornament?
For the veterans we have the army boots, the dog tags, the American flag, just a lot of ornaments like that for honoring our service members as well. And of course, I’m a big Ohio State fan so there’s little stockings with the Ohio State symbol on it as well as footballs, and those are always popular.
