Mid Winter Wiltproof Application

plant covered in snow

Now’s the perfect time to put Wiltproof on rhododendrons, azaleas, and some of the other big leafy evergreens. With this thaw, if you did it back at the end of November, you can make a second application. Just make sure it sits on there for 4-6 hours when it’s above freezing.

The first application is by far the most crucial, but it does fade over time with rains and snows, and in the sunlight breaking that product down. So you can reapply it at this time of year to help them go through the winter even better.

They say you should reapply that about every 30 days. But every 30 to 45 days now when we’re frozen, the moisture is not present there like it is when we’re getting a lot of rain and diluting it, washing it off the leaf. So it does last a lot longer when we have extended periods of cold which we’ve had in December.
