Meyer Lemon Tree Hasn’t Bloomed Yet

This is from Janet, who says “My healthy Meyer lemon tree has not bloomed yet. Is there anything I can do to get it to blossom before I bring it back indoors? Last year it produced a dozen lemons.”
Now is actually the perfect time to fertilize it. I would use an organic fertilizer like Fox Farms Big Bloom, that’s my favorite because it does push and set blooms. I like Fox Farm because it’s organic and it just all around has a lot of other nutrients that’s good for it. It is a perfect time to do it because the days start getting shorter, that’s when it really does start to bloom.
The fact that it bloomed really well last year and produced a lot tells me that it probably used a lot of nutrients, so I would fertilize it with the Fox Farm Big Bloom. Now it needs to replenish itself to build up more energy to produce again.
I hope that helped Janet, and you got the answer that you need. You can and do it a couple times as long as you’re following the directions on the liquid fertilizer. You can do it every time before you water. As far as getting into perennials and shrubs that kind of stuff, we don’t want to start pushing too much new growth going into fall, but stuff that you’re gonna bring inside, following the directions you can fertilize as often as you want.
