Monarch Butterflies Are Loving This Milkweed

monarch caterpillar on milkweed

Al in Plain Township had something to say about the milkweed plants he bought at the nursery.

I love butterflies, hummingbirds, and now my granddaughter, she loves butterflies. Well a couple years ago, I was looking for perennials with  more attraction to the hummingbirds and the butterfly So, you know, I bought my plants and got a beautiful

section in my backyard for that reason. One of the key plants that I bought was milkweed. It’s like tropical weather this year, I swear, and the milkweed is the only one that attracts the monarch butterfly. Lays its eggs only on milkweed.

Oh, what do you think happened this year? They’re in their chrysalis stage right now, sharing it with my granddaughter especially, she’s absolutely loving it, but we’re gonna get monarch butterflies.

So you know to the readers, if you’re into the butterflies, milkweed’s your friend.

First of all, your perennials are beautiful and the milkweed that I bought is absolutely gorgeous. We’re tracking the process, you’ll see the eggs, then you’ll see the stages of the caterpillar, and then now we’re in the chrysalis stage. Honestly, it is so cool right now, and I’m so happy that it actually happened. I love it.

Well, thank you for sharing sir. I’m excited for you, that’s amazing.  It’s amazing to watch the chrysalis, they’ll turn black, almost like a real dark black, and you’ll see the wings in there and then you know It’s gonna be anytime.
