Products We Use & Sell at the Nursery

Of course, we have to talk about the all-season fertilizer. It’s the number one fertilizer we sell, it’s what we recommend. It’s what the growers use to produce the plants, so it’s already what the plants are used to consuming. It’s also a very slow-release fertilizer and it’ll feed it for the entire season.

A couple other products here we talk about sometimes. Grow Big is a liquid fertilizer from Fox Farms. It’s highly recommended for an organic option is for vegetables and fruits and things like that. I use it in my veggie garden and for herbs too.

Then the Bloom Booster from Jax. We talk about the liquid fertilizer all the time, this is the powder that you mix into water and it’s the energy drink for plants. That’s what we use at the nursery along with the all-season. We do mix that in with all our custom planters and stuff like that. That gives us a way to double feed them to keep everything looking tip top.

There’s a systemic insect granular. A lot of times if you have house plants and they’re coming in and out and they happen to have something on them; this is the product that we talk about in the fall. Specifically, when we’re bringing them in in the fall.

And then the famous Repels-All. The Repels-All, the type we brought is granular. It is used to deter a ton of different things from being problems in the flower beds or foundations around the house, deer, rabbits, groundhogs, chipmunks. There’s a lot of things that we’ll use, and we like the granular. The liquid’s good too, but the liquid doesn’t hold up to multiple rains as well as the granular does.

The liquid’s good for your day lilies, or something that the deer are definitely going to eat and that’s up off the ground.  It’s good for that, but it still does not last as long. It’s completely organic, it smells like garlic and yeah, it does smell like sneaky cheese.

But once it’s down in the bed, it’s not like it’s something that you’re going to smell horribly up on your deck. It doesn’t affect you enjoying your environment. You can still have the windows open. It’s just when you’re in its very immediate vicinity, it’s something that you’re going to smell and that’s what keeps the deer from messing with it. If you’ve got your nose down in the ground, you’re probably going to smell it. That’s what they’re coming in contact with it and they don’t like it, so they just go away.

And it is organic, so, it’s all safe. A lot of people do ask that because dogs and a lot of things, they are sniffing around. See how these two labels, the front here says Bonide and it’s got a tan swath and then a purple label. The Bonide company does that, to make it very easy to visually recognize it on the shelf and we carry a lot of Bonide product there at the nursery.
