What’s Up at Rohr’s This September: Fall Fest & Discounts

Let’s talk about fall! Why don’t we talk about what’s coming up at the nursery?

We got a fall fest coming up here, it’s going to be on September 19th from 10 a.m. To 5 p.m at our location on Portage St. We’re going to have a ton of different food vendors. We got an Angelo’s 2 Go food truck coming, we’ve got a coffee truck, baked goods, there’s jewelry vendors that are going to be there, and then we have a lot of activities for the kids as well. So face painting, pumpkin painting, things like that. So it just should be a good time.

There’s going to be a ton of in-store specials that we’re going to announce day of, we’ll have flyers at the front register for people to to pick up, if there’s something you want to do. Also at the store right now, our discount sections are massive. Probably the biggest they’ve ever been.

Discounts!

Our discount section is our scratch and dent section, so it’s things that don’t meet our quality standards that we know we can’t sell for full price. We don’t want to hang on to them for another season, because the new stuff that’s coming in is going to be better. So we’ll take some of that stuff that got missed on a water but still viable, still alive. It’s still going to do just fine and come out next year like nothing was wrong with it. But the leaves are a little messed up this year on some of the stuff and there’s other things in there that there’s literally nothing wrong with, but we bought 30 of something and there’s one or two left, and we brought the new crop in and they’re into a smaller crop so they don’t match.

And so it’s sometimes there’s things like that that are over there. There’s literally nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t match the new crop that came in and so we rotate it out. Everything over there’s at least 50% off, but a lot of the potted trees and stuff, they’re 75-80% off. They’re all yellow tagged and marked way way way down.

Got to take a look at that because maybe you’re you’re not even realizing something that you would want. I mean we have a ton of people that come in and shop that section. A buddy of mine a few years ago, he did his entire house and horse barn with discount plants, and in the spring, I think he’d lost one thing. I was like, I know I told you this is the way to do it this time of year. A lot of that stuff is is stressed because it is in a pot and it needs to go in the ground, so it’s gonna stretch and be so happy. Same with the perennials.
