Don’t be nervous about pruning your roses incorrectly.

Roses are very forgiving. Each year the plants produce strong new shoots, giving you beautiful blossoms and another try at pruning.

  •  The best time to prune most roses is late winter or early spring about 4-6 weeks before the last frost.
  •  Summer pruning is just a matter of removing the faded blooms throughout the growing season.
  •  Because pruning promotes new growth, discontinue in late summer to avoid subjecting plants to winter damage.
